Alongside delivering great projects, two causes hold a special place in Hunters’ heart: a commitment to ESG and a dedication to giving back to meaningful initiatives.

As part of our goal of giving back, we’ve hosted and participated in various events throughout 2024, raising an incredible £33,000 to support various charities.

Our Managing Director, Stef Brennan, said: “Giving back is something important to Hunters and has been for many years.

I believe we can leverage our position, thanks to where we are in the industry, our supply chain, people we know, and the contacts we’ve got to help us raise money and use our time wisely to accomplish that.”

Charities we donated to

The highest amount of money we raised was for Cancer Research UK, the leading UK charity dedicated to funding research to help beat Cancer, giving £15,000 after hosting a bingo night and supporting Stef’s Kilimanjaro climb.

By taking part in Christmas Jumper Day, organising a raffle at our AGM and running a marathon and committing to a month-long 10k daily walk in support of mental health awareness, we enjoyed participating in a whole host of smaller initiatives too.

From these, we raised over £6,000 in total for Prostate Cancer UK, MIND, and Save the Children .

In terms of sponsorship, we stayed local, giving a combined £3,000 to Old Colfeians U14 rugby team, a rugby union team based in South London, and Essex Rebels, the university of Essex basketball team.

Furthermore, during our annual charity clay pigeon shooting day, we raised £4,115 for Hospice in the Weald, a hospice dedicated to care for adults and children living with a terminal or life-limiting illness in Kent and East Sussex.

And last but not least, we donated furniture valued at approximately £8,000 to Ellenor, a hospice with a clear mission of improving individual’s life facing life-limiting illnesses.

What to expect in 2025

Hunters is goal-driven and ambitious and our MD Stef has a clear vision for what’s coming this year:

“We’ve been raising money steadily for years and I see our team as the driving force behind that.

Our goal is to raise at least £35,000 by the end of 2025 for our 35th year in business.

We have lots of exciting stuff coming for our 35th year and the team already has some fantastic ideas of how we’re going to raise this money.

Personally, I’ll be taking on a 100km triathlon later in the year, we’ve got some charity champions internally, and we’ve already picked some events, so there’s loads to come.”
